"Hot spring in front of Seibu Chichibu station Matsuri no Yu" FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment) Construction
FF&E construction including the designing of production equipment for the "hot spring in front of Seibu Chichibu station Matsuri no Yu". We will introduce a project that was realized through collaborative efforts between the client and Nomura Group.
Designer Emiko Sadamori
For "the hot spring in front of Seibu Chichibu station Matsuri no Yu", I was in charge of designing production equipment for the general construction work and inside the building. Using Chichibu’s night festival which is designated as a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage as the theme, lanterns, “noren”(entrance curtains) and hanging screens etc. were designed. Well accepted by the locals, it lets visitors enjoy the atmosphere of a festival.
Points of Production
We wanted it to be a facility loved by the local people of Chichibu, so we designed “chichifuku”, not shichifuku(play on words as shichifuku has the meaning of the seven deities of good fortune) to bring good fortune to "Matsuri no Yu". The original crest was put on lanterns and curtains and includes animals that are auspicious to the Chichibu area. The animals are a cat, pig, frog, monkey, dragon, owl and tiger. The crest represents the co-existence with the traditional environment and also represents the world of "Matsuri no Yu".
My style. What I place importance on.
Display work cannot be done just by a designer alone. I believe that coming up with various ideas with cooperating companies and colleagues and communicating with the client will lead to good results.
Especially for this project, collaborating with group companies promoted the creation of diverse opinions and ideas which led to the creation of a space with distinctive features.
